You will never be able to live the life you want to live or be the person you want to be.
But what you cannot do for yourself, Christ can do for you.
Dear sister, stop trying to be a good wife though your own strength, let Him be a good “wife” in you.
You, in and of yourself, will always be a “complicated” person. You, in and of yourself, will wonder if you were cut out for marriage. You, in and of yourself, will always struggle to be a good mother. That’s a fact!
Dear brother, you, in and of yourself, cannot be a truly faithful husband or a good father. You can never truly forgive.
But Christ, who is in us, can do it for us!
Our role is simply to see that the sinful, selfish person within us has been put to death and now it is Christ who lives His life through us.
This is the place of victory, freedom, peace, and joy.
The problem with so counselling is that it offers techniques to heal the old man. But the only place for the old man is the grave.
The more you believe that there is hope for the old man, the more time and energy you waste on something that will ultimately disappoint you.
Let’s not go down that road.

There is a new and living way to the life you want to live and the person you want to be through Christ Jesus.
